CHRISTIAN EDUCATION
Educational Ministries for all ages
- Church School K-12 / Sunday mornings
We are currently using The Whole People of God curriculum. This
curriculum follows the weekly Lectionary scripture texts, the same as
is most often used in worship.
This allows for consistency for
families in the week to follow, since most often the Church School
focus is the same as our worship focus.
The curriculum is set up in
six-week units, and teachers rotate with each unit. This allows for
the children to get to know more of our adults, encourages more adults
to be involved in teaching, and permits our adult teachers to
participate in our educational ministries and be fed through worship.
- Adult Bible Study / Monday 12 noon (bring your own lunch)
This Bible Study is an opportunity to explore the Lectionary text
or the focus text for the following Sunday. It is informal and
dialogical in nature. We value and encourage a variety of voices, as
well as a variety of theological interpretations. Theology or
thinking about God is not just the work of the clergy, but of all
people. And as we study, share, and reflect on our scripture texts,
we can be stretched and challenged to integrate our faith into our
daily living and our on going ministry.
- Adult Book Study and Interest Groups: As announced (see news and events)
Book studies and interest groups will be periodic, and will vary
in length and times. They will form out of our dialogue and community
interests, issues, and contexts. For information about these
offerings, watch our News and Events calendar and our newsletter.
- Confirmation Classes
Confirmation Classes have just completed for the 2000-2001 season.
Watch for more details or speak with Pastor Melanie for more information.
