Derbyshire 4-H Club was established and sponsored in 1989 by Derbyshire Farms. The club’s coordinator is Lucinda Henderson, who has been a 4-H Leader for over 20 years. The Derbyshire 4-H Club is a project club specializing in horses. Our 4-H members are active in the projects of Hippology, Horse Science Notebooks, and general horse care projects. Meetings are held on a regular basis at Derbyshire Farms. Members from any club are welcome at our meetings as Lucinda Henderson is currently Berrien County’s Hippology Coach.
Many of our members have participated in Hippology at the county, state and national level. Members are also active in showing their horses in cross-country, dressage, stadium jumping and a variety of open horse shows.
New project areas being developed will be in the area of leather working and horse tack repair. |
