Why do I get disconnected all the time?

What you are experiencing is called a lost carrier. This may be caused by outdated modem drivers, older phone lines, heavy call times, or even software on your computer. Updating your modem driver is always the first step. You can also try calling a different dialup number as long as it is a local telephone call. If the problem persists, call Technical Support.

In most cases it may take 1-3 attempts to get connected to the Internet. Each POP is performing thousands of connections each day and you may have problems authenticating. Make sure your modem has the latest driver installed. You can also try calling a different POP as long as it is a local telephone call. If the problem persists, call Technical Support.
